So here is the link to Good Books and Good Wine
About 5 blogs that I actively follow are doing this
challenge and I have decided to jump aboard the bandwagon of fun.
Since there are no set rules I have decided to mix it up a
little. Each day there will be a new color to go with the entry. Something
interesting and different than normal black. I feel if colors like Silver,
Orange, Vomit Green don`t get enough recognition like they should.
Day One: Fifteen Book Related Confessions
#1: When I go to people`s
houses/apartments I look for their bookshelf to see how well they care for
their books.
#2: I attempted a Book Buying
Ban awhile back, I actually put myself the pain of walking into bookstores and
forcing myself to leave empty handed…I wanted to cry.
#3: Most of the living people I hang
out with do not understand my bookish obsessions.
#4: I hate when I DNF a book. It
makes me feel as if I should just set it aside and come back to it although if I
DNF`ed it, it most likely will not be retried.
#5: I read multiple books at
once (4-6) but, if there are two books that have similar character names I have
to stop one and finish the other so I don’t confuse the two.
#6: I smell books. I know most
bookies do but I feel like I wanted to be included in that group of book
smellers.
#7: I physically cannot make
myself read a hardback with the dust jacket on. It must be a naked book while I
read then it is permitted to be redressed on my shelf.
#8 I haven`t been to my local
library in over 5 years. The librarian there isn’t all that nice plus they don’t
carry recent books.
#9: I bought a huge purse so I could
fit a book and my tablet as well as other pursey things in it.
#10: I am sort of a cover whore.
Shiny, dressy, whimsical covers catch my attention.
#11: on the note of cover
whorishness. I am not a fan of cover changes midseries but I learn to deal with
it and just buy the previous books in the new design to match.
#12: I have convinced Sean that
a Walk in Closet just means a mini library. He has agreed to let me do this.
#13: My dream house is centered
around a library that only has an entrance from my room. (Mine no one else may
enter unless you know the passcode (Sherbet Lemons)
#14: I might obsess over book
boyfriends. Like I know my ideal man could never compare to my montage of book
boys.
#15: I have read more books then
I type reviews for because I am not exactly sure how to write out all my feels.
(I am trying to get better at this by writing feels down as I read)
Well there you all go Day One of
the book challenge.
TTFN,
Ashley @Bookz4Nerdz
Hehe I love how you call it a naked hardback. I'm the same way though. Those things move around too easily and get damaged.
ReplyDeleteWell aren`t they naked when they have nothing on. I feel as if I take the jacket off and the actual book gets damaged then I can slip the jacket back on and no one could tell the problem.
DeleteThanks for commmenting
This is a cool idea! I feel like I should actually do some challenges (particularly challenges that will help me blog a little more consistently..). I should just do what you do with dust jackets! I keep having them slip off when I read and invariably get frustrated and very distracted throughout the book because of it..why taking it off never occurred to me...
ReplyDeleteThis is actually the first challenge I have participating in that I have stuck with.
DeleteI have and still am on a road trip for the past two months so I have not been posting as much as I planned on. I have got tons of reading done just nothing posted.
Just remember to put the jacket in a safe place so it stays in prestige condition.
thanks for commenting
Hey Ashley.
ReplyDelete#9. Same! If I didn't love books so much I'd probably walk around with a clutch.
#12 YOU. ARE. LUCKY.
Even though this challenge is over, I feel inspired to do it anyway. You're an inspiration. :)
