Truth or Dare Meme: Truth
This week the truth was to tell us what other hobbies you have outside of the book world.
Since I was 9 I was saving up to buy a horse. My parents never thought that at 12 I would be able to buy not only my horse but a horse trailer as well. Now 6 years (almost 7) I am riding strong and even giving lessons. Here are some pictures of the things I can do with my horses.
Another hobby I have is bowling. I have been on the same junior league for 13 years. My first ball was 7lbs and now I bowl with a 14lbs ball. Bowling has opened many doors for me. I was able to pay for my first semester of community college using a scholarship I was awarded for being an excellent bowling mentor for the youth. I sit as the junior representative on our bowling association board.
Those are the two main things I do besides read. I was told by one of my good friends that I should write that I have a social life. This was a joke since I don't have very many friends outside of college. So to end this post I present to you my crazy, wacky, totally amazing group of friends.
TTFN,
Ashley
WOW! You saved up for your own horse at twelve. That takes some commitment. Were you a fan of horse novels as a kid? Those are some cute pictures of you in the bowling shirts. The guy in the front of the group shot looks like he's got quite a personality. >:)
ReplyDeleteI was pretty dedicated to horses back them and still am today. Not a huge fan of horse books ( i loved dragons)
DeleteSean was my bowling partner last year and Brooklyn means the offside of your strike zone so its a bowling pun. He got them made for my birthday.
Yes all those guys (plus a few more) have been a huge part of my life since High School. I`m lucky to have them and I`m so grateful that they put up with my bookishness.

Aw, I use to show! I miss riding :( That's awesome you give lessons. My trainer was my rock and I don't think I would have gotten as far in show as I did without her :)
ReplyDeleteand YAY FOR BOWLING! I was a on a teen bowling league. :)
What discipline did you ride?
DeleteThis past year i was able to take two of my students to region level for Horse Mastership through CSHA. They both won buckles (one in Gymkhana the other Western). I figure that if i enjoy horses that spreading the love could help the community.
Thanks for stopping by my page.
