Book
Review: The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller
This
novel was a quick ready. It was recommended to me by my fellow co-blogger even
though I don't normally read contemporary novels. She thought I would enjoy the
nerdy parts, and as it turns out; she was right.
Three
words to describe how much I enjoyed the book.
IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!
I enjoyed
the story and thought it was very cute. It reminded me very much of myself when
I was younger and how Maddie faced many of the same demons in her past that I
did; it was easy to relate to. It is a book I think that anyone can relate to
because the whole story is about being yourself and that is the best that you
can do. That is something everyone faces; be your self or follow the crowd. The
book does a very good job showing how being your self is better.
Onto the
story portion; I loved every part in this book that dealt with live action role
playing. This totally had my nerd coming out and I decided to play an elf in my
next adventure. Everyone got so into their character and that made it very
enjoyable to read. The best scene of the role playing was the final duel and
the good guys always win.
