Armchair BEA Post One

So today was the start of Armchair BEA.

Let me introduce myself for those just swinging by my page.

My name is Ashley everywhere online I am either Bookz4Nerdz or BooksBuyingBeauty
I am eighteen and a soon to be high school graduate. I have been blogging a little over a year now. I started blogging because I wanted to have a voice in the book community. Plus I might have wanted to write about my bookish thoughts where other book livers could read it instead of in real life where no one really wants to hear my opinion.

The best part about the blogging community is the socialization and how diverse we all are. When reading what other people think without the faces or voice we become less judgmental in my opinion. I have a select few blogs that I follow and read religiously and if they say a book is a got-to-have I instantly read the synopsis and buy it. Same goes if they think a book isn1t all its cracked up to be.

This is my first year participating in Armchair BEA and I am very excited. A lot of the blogs I`ve seen are going to BEA plus some authors and when they talked about those that I couldn't go could join in on the fun I instantly jumped on the chance to join. I plan on saving up and going to BEA next year.

This is blog is book dedicated so most people do not know that I am the California State Horsemen Horse mastership barrel racing CHAMPION of 2012. This is a huge deal in the riding community. I own 6 horses. 4 of them are Mustangs the Wild Mustang of the West. I am not a hick or a buckle bunny. I work hard to be able to play hard and earn my shiny buckles.

There are three books that I am currently reading (I am a book multi-tasker). Abandoned by Meg Cabot, Corsets & Clockworks Anthology, and Don`t Breathe a Word by Jennifer McMahon. One of my favorite books so far of 2013 would be Splintered by A.G.Howard as well as the finale in the Across The Universe Trilogy- Shades of Earth by Beth Revis.

  1. AWESOME POST! That is my dream car btw, but the wrong shade of red.. omg one day... one day, though as the years go by!!

Good job on all your accomplishments! I rescued mustangs when I was in high school, well my family did and my father no longer actively does it but has someone running it for him. Your senior project looks like my Raven's Heart whom I barrel raced (decades ago) how gorgeous!! Welcome to your first year! This is mine too!

    1. We call it vomit orange. I borrowed it from a friend (if I had it my way id repaint it candy apple red)

I am a total Mustang advocate even though I Barrel race my Quarter Horse (I`ve had her since she was 3)

Most of the projects other seniors chose were volunteering at younger aged schools so I thought working with an injured Mustang would be unique.

Congrats on joining this year. I look forward to your posts

  2. Great post!

I love the horses! and so glad you wear a helmet when you do those stunts.... you're crazy!

Glad you're taking part in BEA this year. As you know my first year too doing it too! Should be fun!

    1. Yes I am a crazy person for doing stunts off my horse but they are so well behaved and I`ve worked hard to build the trust between us. Helmets are important I want my brain held together if I do fall.

I`m really excited for Armchair BEA and I hope next year I will have enough saved up to actually go to BEA

    1. Thank you for the explanations! Sorry to be so uninformed. I'm Welsh. We don't have too many Hicks n Buckle Bunnies. Have lots of other things though...!

  4. Whoa, the horse riding is quite impressive! I should probably know more about horses since I'm from Texas, but I . . . don't, haha.

  5. Congrats on your upcoming graduation! Sigh...seems like yesterday that I graduated. In reality it was over 20 years ago. Gulp!

I don't know what in the world a buckle bunny is but that made me giggle ;)

Nice to meet you, have a great ABEA!

    1. Nice to meet you too.

A Buckle Bunny is a girl who buys shiny belt buckles and wear short shorts and shows it off.

My mom always complains about the buckle bunnies at the rodeo (the girls hitting on the hot bull riders)

Yep I am really nervous about graduating but I think it is just a stepping stone of my adventurous life

  6. Wow, you have so much ahead of you. I haven't hit the 20 year reunion yet but it gets closer every year. I love to ride, but haven't had the chance in ages.

Check out my intro @ Lindsey Gray

Thank you, I wasn`t sure what to write or how to make it look appealing but I had some recent pictures and wanted to get my face out there.

  9. Welcome to Armchair BEA! I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would love to hear your opinion, but even if they aren't real-world people you know, we fellow bloggers will fill in the gaps. Happy first year of Armchair BEA! I'm with you on book multi-tasking. I've got 8 official books going at one time right now. :) Ha! I can't help it. Good luck with the rest of Armchair BEA!

    1. Followed you back thank you

8 books wow that is a pretty hefty amount.

I am so thankful for the blogging community. I feel as if it is sometimes the only place that doesn't mind listening to me talk.
