Hey guys so I didnt update yesterday cause I was a little preoccupied with this fantastic book I got a copy of.
Echoes of Us by Kat Zhang *SQUEEEEEEEEEE*
I loved book 1 & adored book 2 so to beable to review book 3 and do a Q&A with Kat is just amazing. Look for my review on Saturday. Hoping to include the Q&A then as well.
So for my Bout of Books update:
I have read 181pgs of Echoes of Us (everything else took a backseat)
Listened to 2 chapters of Night Circus (Only 9hrs 23min left to listen to)
I have also read 31pgs of Guardian`s Nightmare (before mail arrived)
Day Three of the Back to School Challenge: School Memory
So this took a little thought to think of a best school memory. I`ve had a lot of fantastic school times and some not so great but the one I think I`m gonna go with is.......*drum roll*.....
The day I shook Adam Sandler and the Govenator`s hands. This was so amazing. Imagine 4th grade (2004) me standing at the capitol building listening to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger give a speech and light the Menorah. Sure it was a little boring but the best part was when him and Adam Sandler were walking down the center aisle shaking people`s hand a news reporter let me step in front of him so I could see (I was short) and they stopping and shook my hand. I got on the bus and everyone was a chatter. I didn't really care about the handshake from our governor but getting one from a favorite actor was a pretty big deal. I have the newspaper clipping somewhere because lucky my the newspaper reporter took a picture.
I`d have to say that would be one of my favorite school memories although honorable mention goes to That time I was in 7th grade but won an 8th grade award for a county writing contest for short fiction. I wrote a 32pg book with illustrations and it beat out all 7th graders AND 8th graders in the county. It was pretty fun writing it at my birthday party too.
Well thats my updates. What have you been reading? What are your favorite memories that you hope to tell to your kids one day?
TTFN,
Ashley
You're so lucky to have met both Adam Sandler and Schwarzenegger! I didn't really meet anybody famous when I was at school, but I did meet an author who'd won a national book award twice, so that was pretty exciting.
ReplyDeleteThat is like the coolest school memory ever!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome memory! I'm not sure I could have kept it together long enough to shake their hands lol! I would probably faint or something. :)
