So I`ve been asked this question time and time again. How do I go about writing my reviews (when I`m not in a reading slump)? I have a go to list of questions that I ask myself as soon as I set down the book. (Or a few weeks later when the feels wear off) :)
Those questions you ask....Well here you go. Let me know in the comments below what questions you can think of when writing a review.
1.What is the name of the book?
2. Who wrote it?
3. What do I think of cover?
4. What was your overall impression of the book (keep it short!)?
5. What was the main character like?
6. Were there any relationships? What were they like?
7. World building- how did it go?
8. Have the characters shown any growth or change?
9. How did the book flow? Did the author have good mojo the whole way through or did it lag in bits?
10. Did it give you the feels? (Look at me being all hip!)
11. How was the ending? Is there an obvious sequel?
12. Who would you suggest this book to?
13. Would you read this book again?

Those are great questions! I tend to divide a book by what I like and what I don't like. For some genres I tend to grade harder on pacing. I don't like it when books lag. Character development is another big one, and I also pay attention to dialogue. The last one would be logistical issues. Sometimes things don't make sense, such as a ferry of tourists disappearing in the middle of a bay due to vampires, and no governmental suspicion is aroused. In these moments I wish someone along the line of editing had caught it.
