Okay guys and gals I had the chance to ask Terah Edun some questions about what inspired her to write the Courtlight series. You can look forward to her interview tomorrow as well as a sneak peak at Book 3 Sworn to Conflict.
Sworn to Raise (Courtlight #1)
Terah Edun
April 10th, 2013
265pgs
Synopsis (on GR):
Seventeen-year-old Ciardis has grown up in poverty, a cleaner in a small vale on the outskirts of the empire. But beneath her empire’s seemingly idyllic surface lies a hidden secret. Whispers of an inept crown Prince are growing ever louder—intensified by the five year anniversary of the soulbond initiations.
Amidst scandalous whispers, Ciardis finds herself chosen to train for the Companion’s Guild. She leaves her home and sets off on a personal journey to become a Court Companion. A position she’d never thought possible for a lowly servant to obtain, she must prove that she has the skills to attract a Patron.
Past Review: (Orginally posted August 7th)
I received this e-book for an honest review. It took me about a day and has to finish which is fairly quick for me because I was traveling.
An orphan gypsy girl who is pretty yet wild. Cildeis was relate-able even though I'm nothing like her. She yearns for things she cannot have, yet this girl was able to catch a break in life's crap storm. She ends up with what she deserves.
Sebastian comes off as a liar and scoundrel. He does get better later on though which was nice. Even though he was arrogant i really started to like him. He is the type of character that can grow with the series if given the ability to do so.
Terah Edun described companions in a way I haven`t heard of before. She compares companions to wives. This was interesting because companions aren`t married to their person like a wive to a husband. Companions are in charge of providing for the household as well as their kingdom Companions can be both male or female which is really nice. I`ve heard of companions being more like sex-slaves and only women. Terah`s definition is much better.
I`m really glad I received this book and hopefully the second book will be out soon.

Review:
I received Sworn to Transfer on Netgalley for a honest review. I actually received this book after it was released and am in the process of reading it right now.
As of page 35: YES YES YES. Ciardis is my age so I believe that is why I love her. She is fiercely independent. She wants to do right by everyone else and still wants to figure out her place in life.
Look for my full review soon.
Day 2 will consist of Q&A and a preview of Sworn to Conflict
