Iolanthe Seabourne is the greatest elemental mage of her generation—or
so she's being told. The one prophesied for years to be the savior of The
Realm. It is her duty and destiny to face and defeat the Bane, the greatest
mage tyrant the world has ever known. A suicide task for anyone let alone a
sixteen-year-old girl with no training, facing a prophecy that foretells a
fiery clash to the death.
Prince Titus of Elberon has sworn to protect Iolanthe at all costs but he's also a powerful mage committed to obliterating the Bane to avenge the death of his family—even if he must sacrifice both Iolanthe and himself to achieve his goal.

I
would still consider myself fairly new to the YA genera but Burning Sky screams
to me, “I am a YA adventure.” Ashley received it from a Harper Collins giveaway
through EpicReads and I proceeded to steal it from her because I saw it and it
was a must read. The cover looked incredible and very much related to the
story.
The
story is not quite an original in plot but very well done. A young mage, Archer
Fairfax, must rise to her destiny to destroy the evil power controlling the
land. Only with the help of her mentor and king of the people will she succeed
in accomplishing her destiny.
The
story was, to say the least, incredible!!! It is full of deception and
intrigue, friendship, destiny, and favorite of all to me, MAGIC. I love magic
and this story brought out a whole new realm of magic that I have never before
read. The ability to vault from one place to another is the only power similar
to other fantasy I have read and that is a wizard’s transportation spell. The other
magic is that of working with the elements in order to use them and some mages
have a better connection than others. There is also another realm of magic
inside this book and it is basically alchemy. There are potions of all kinds
from healing to improved vaulting.
Even
with how well the book was done, the end of the book I didn’t like very much. I
can’t put my finger on it but it feels as if something is missing from the end
as it also came to an end that wasn’t much better than what was going on at the
beginning of the book.

I've had the ARC of The Burning Sky for a while, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. There are so many great reviews out there, and I'm glad you're one who enjoyed it!
