So although this is not because of a banned book my dad saw this article and was appalled by it.

The thought of so many books being thrown away makes me sick. They are donating 3,000 books to charity but discard a total of 20,000. That would be 17,000 books not accounted for. Yes i understand they need room for the bigger and better things but they have other ways to discard the used books.
This was my intro into Banned Book Week. Today I am spending the day re-watching the first 2 Harry Potter movies as well as reading book 1. My cousin has just started the series which makes me so happy. I think this book should be required reading not on the ban list. Look for my Harry Potter filled post tomorrow. Also be looking at my twitter for updates through-out the movie and book reading.

What a waste of perfectly good books. Since space was a problem, then the dumpster was just the fastest option. They could have just donated all of the great-condition materials to Goodwill or some other charity, but the dumpster was only a few feet away. :-\

DeleteShows how lazy people are. They could have put "Free to Good Home" so many people would have stopped.Oh well at least they are trying to fix the problem so it doesnt keep happening.
