Top Ten Words/Topics that Instantly Make Me Buy a Book
Finally I am posting on a Tuesday. This took some thinking and I could have added more topics but I narrowed it down.
1) Maps
If I am looking at what book to buy or talking books with someone and they tell me how there is a map of the world in the book I freak and go find myself a copy. I think it takes talent as an illustrator to design a map to fit the book`s story.
2) Historical Fiction
This is for any time period but if it involves Germany then you better believe I must have my hands on it. I also enjoy the time traveling to different eras like in Kerstin Gier`s books Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue.
3) Alternate Universe
I love when authors can create a whole new unique world. That is something I don't think I would ever have the patience to hash out.
4) Country Setting
I`m a cowgirl what can I say anything that involves horses, Smexi cowboys and that down home feeling I just need in my hands like yesterday.
5) Music
After I read Etude by Melinda Morgan I want books that have that musical aspect to them that I never want to put down.
6) Forbidden Love
Not like Romeo and Juliet but the type of couple that will fight anyone or anything to be together.
7) New Adult
This is a new genre to me and I am still working out how to know when my books fit this category.
8) Bad Boys
Ever since I read Perfect Chemistry I fell in love with those bad boy types. In real life its not worth the heartache so I lose myself with them in my mind.
9) The Geek Speak
I just finished The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise and let me tell you this has just the right amount of geekness to it. I love the books that reference programming and coding because in reality I am a coder at heart.
10) Dystopian
Figured I would have to put this on my list even though I haven't read Divergent I am truly excited for the filming.
Music is on my list too and your excitement over maps has reminded me how much I like finding them in books!
